The Fair Trade Concept
Where possible, we prefer to source ingredients from growing communities and fair-trade cooperatives. It means that producers are guaranteed stable prices, reliable revenue and good working conditions. It provides the communities where our ingredients are produced with enormous benefits. Unfortunately, it takes time and effort to change industries that were established in a different era. Just through the products that we choose to support, we can all bring about positive change.
Our Shea butter
The Shea butter that we use in our products comes from Ghana. It is traditionally women who pick the Shea nuts. In many cases, the only source of revenue for these women and their families comes from working in the Shea trade.
By using our products, you can be part of fair trade and environmentally sustainable practices, whilst providing local women and their communities with jobs and opportunities. You can provide communities in Ghana with a fair chance, whilst also empowering local people and their communities.
Our Shea butter is organic and fair trade certified for its quality and premium grade.
Our Coconut oil
The coconut oil that we use is handmade by local producers in the Philippines. The coconuts are pressed by hand within an hour of the nut being opened, then filtered three times to produce the purest extra virgin coconut oil. This oil is 100% certified organic, made from sustainable sources, and ethically produced. By using our products, you are providing job opportunities to local families, women, men, and even people with disabilities in the village and empowering them.
Those who live in isolated island communities are given the opportunity to live a good life in their own villages. The income generated through selling virgin coconut oil goes towards the entire local economies.
